In the sequel of a long list of workshops organized by IST, MARIN (see http://www.refresco.org/verification-validation/vv-workshops/ for a full list, and links), next year May 2018, in Minneapolis, USA (for the first time not in Las Vegas) a continuation Workshop on Iterative Errors in Unsteady Simulations will be organized under the ASME V&V 20 Committee activities. MARIN and IST will be organizing it and also participating with results obtained with ReFRESCO. The participants of last year are joining and hopefully some more new.

In this new workshop the influence of iterative error (and statistical error) on the solution of a simple 2D low-Reynolds flow around a smooth circular cylinder will be investigated, and its importance quantitatively assessed. Both in-house, community-based, open-source and commercial codes will be used. Since this is often neglected, specially in unsteady calculations, the results obtained here can be an eye-opener for several CFD practitioners. Keep an eye on it (http://web.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/ist12278/Workshop_iterative_2018/Workshop_iterative_2018.htm); we will…
